I am the pres that is stepping down and our regular members (all 10-12 of us) have known since maybe Nov of my decision. Nobody wants to take it on. I feel badly, but after 4 years, plus being involved in other activities, I am just burnt out and need a break. I hate the thought of leaving, but what's even worse to me is to stay and not give 100%. It's not fair to the children.

I would let everyone know right away at every chance you get that these positions need to be filled. Mention it at meetings, activities everything. Also start asking thats how I became president I wasnt even on the PTO just was a volunteer and one of the moms asked me to run.

This year we're runing into the same problem, 'cuz I'm probably not going to be at the school next year (I am/was defacto prez in training/waiting)

I'd talk to everyone to see if there's someone to run or might be interested

The president of our school's PTO is stepping down as well as the Vice President. At this point we have no one interested in the positions. Has anyone run into this problem before and how have you handled it? Thanks for any and all suggestions.
