Feedback/tips for Family Science Night?

I can't wait! I've wanted to do an activity like this for two years and couldn't find the time. It may actually happen now that you guys are inventing the wheel for us. Thanks so much!

Hi Guys -

We held (are still holding)a pilot/test of Family Science Night this Fall, as part of our School Family Nights ( www.schoolfamilynights.com ) program. Just a select few schools (random) in just a couple of cities were invited for the test.

That's why you've not seen it in magazine or on website.

Test is going great and we hope to bring it to a larger audience in 2006. You'll definitely see it (we're not shy!) if/when it launches on a broader scale.

We just finished ours. It was Nov. 3. There are a couple of things I would have done differently. We allowed movement at will. As soon as they were done at one station they could move to another one. This was a little confusing. Also, I didn't have a leader at each station which would have helped with the directions. Finally, I would have made individual kits for each student. They tended to do the balloon activity 4 or 5 times and even took balloons home so I ran out before the night was over.

Over all, it was a huge success. We are considering doing another family night in the spring.
