Speaking from experience, that costume is VERY hot, I wore a Leo the Lion costume one year fro Red Ribbon Week cause our guy got sick and believe you me I will never volunteer that slot again! I thought I was gonna pass out!
As far as Chic-Filet is concerned...what an awesome establishment!!!!! They have been huge givers to our ditrict and more importantly, most of the money has benn basically free, School nites at thier buisiness, free certificates donated, meals at discounts, etc
Where it was very unfortunate that things happened the way they did, I'm sure this person that was sick that day would have rather been well. I agree that i would just take a breather on this one and let it go

I think I might take a deep breath and let it go...but that's just me. If it is successful and you raise some money, perhaps next time it'll work out. I just don't think I'd get worked up about it. We did one of those Chick-Fil=A Nights and I think I remember something sort of similar. The big inflatable cow was supposed to be there and I don't think it showed. We didn't make much money off it anyway. I think there will probably be bigger problems to worry about later on in the year.

 About a week ago I posted about our school scheduling a Family Dinner Night and Chick-Fil-A was coming to our school. We had the cow scheduled to come on this past Monday to just walk around outside during PM pick up, hand out candy, flyers, balloons, etc,. just to remind people and get them excited for this Fridays event.
Well, at 230pm I got the call that the person that is the cow was sick. 230 the day off!!! They said they would try and get someone else and call me. At 3oclock I went to school, no cow. So I call the Director of Marketing that I have been dealing with and she's like, sorry we can get anyone, we are short handed. I was very disappointed but I realize these things happen. I suggested to her that she have a back up plan so this doesnt happen again bc I had 300 kids that were going to be walking out the back door in 15 minutes looking for that cow.
We had it on our local TV channel, in our local paper, on our school sign THE COW IS COMING, spent $50 on color copies for flyers, balloons, candy, signs all over school..and then nothing.

The straw that broke the camels back was when she proceeded to say and I quote "the costume is really hot, people dont really like to do it and it is a free service you know" WHAT!?!?!?!?
I spoke to the local Chick Fil A owner and he apologized a lot! He wasnt aware of this problem and felt horribly. He arranged for the cow to come to our Chick Fil A Dinner on Fridy night ( which the woman told me was next to impossible on a Friday night and SHE suggested the afternoon pick up time slot)
The thing is, we are definitely doing the dinner, we collected over $500 and should profit about $220. Shouldnt they be offering me something to "make things right" with us? We were going to schedule a CFA lunch every month and I am seriously reconsidering! The principal and other PTO exec board want something for our trouble...is that wrong? I just felt like they totally dropped the ball and it was unprofessional for corporation to behave this way. I even offered to get in the cow suit, but of course, due to LEGAL REASONS, I could not. Help!! What can we do?
