What about Hula Dancing? A few years ago at a day camp we had a "Beach Day" and one of the activities was a Hawiian (can't spell) booth. They talked about the Alphabet (there are only 13 letters), played "Tiny Bubbles" and had a mini hula lesson. At one of our Spring Flings (much like a Fall Festival) one of the booths were Hula Lessons, it was a big hit. The kids were also given a Hawiian name. There is a site where the names are listed.

In KY Arts and Humanities is required in middle and high school levels (more so than lower levels). They have to learn Polka and other dances. Our PE teacher has even incorperated this into his lesson plans (my boys have decided they don't like dancing), perhaps you can contact an A and H teacher or local college for ideas on different dances.

I'm brand new to PTO and trying to think of things our PTO at our brand new school can do. I've been thinking back on stuff I remember from when I was in school. We had a Spring Fling where each grade performed a dance for the rest of the school and parents. In kindergarten we were the school cheerleaders and did some sort of spirit dance lined up on the field in the shape of a W. In 1st grade our class did the bunny hop and I have a picture of myself wearing bunny ears and a fluffy tail. Great memories! Then my family moved. What I'm wondering is, has anyone else done something like this? and what other "dances" could the other grades do?
