Gift Auction Fundraiser Start-Up

Hi! Your in good hands in that there are a few fellow New Jerseyans here on the boards that all have auctions...we call them Tricky Trays.

Some of us (myself included) do ones like you are interested in where it is held at a banquet center and includes dinner. Other folks do ones in their school gym and serve or sell refreshments.

If you give me your email I can send you all kinds of information and our form letters.

I have been asked by my school to run a gift auction/fundraiser for next year. I could really use some feedback. I am especially looking for some sort of form letter I can use to solicit businesses for this event. I will need to present my information at our next meeting on April 13th. I would appreciate any other advice as well. I have been told to recruit a list of volunteers to start working on this event a.s.a.p. I'm not sure how many I need to pull it off. We are thinking about combining the gift auction with a dinner (perhaps at a local hotel banquet center). I would ideally like to sell 200-300 tickets for the event. What do you all think?
