Donuts With Dads - A great Success

I'm just curious if your school serves breakfast. We have a large population of low income kids that eat breakfast at school on a free or reduced program. Also, is your school a neighborhood school or are your kids bused in from miles away? I think both of these things could impact our doing this at our school.

We have actually planned our Muffins With Moms for next month. It will coincide with our first ever morning Parent Club meeting. We are hoping to get some more moms to stick around for the meeting. The way the schedule is set is Sept. Donuts With Dads, Oct. Muffins With Moms, Nov. Donuts With Dads, etc...

This sounds like a great idea that I plan to suggest at our school. I think that it is great to get Dad's more involved where usually mothers take the responsibility of overseeing a childs educational needs. A suggestion being that on the same announcement/invitation state the date for Mother's/female signicant person to the child time for breakfast. Maybe the events could be held on two consecutive school mornings or the same day on consecutive weeks - one for Males{dad, grand, or other male} to student--one for Female{mom, grand,or other female} to student.
