HI Turquoiseroses,

A new family packet is such a wonderful idea! You might also include the school calendar, back copies of your group's newsletters (to "catch up" on the year!), a list of committee chairs, and volunteer opportunities. You might also want to include general information about your community and local parent resources (like moms groups).

Here are a few links to resources we have on welcome packets that could be adapted to new family packets:

Good luck!

I am being nominated for 2016-17 PTO president and I have a lot of ideas and suggestions for our PTO. We are falling so far behind in what we were meant to be and it really bothers me.
We always have new families moving into our school district throughout the year. I have recently realized that we don't really reach out to those families as a PTO. I would love to have a New Family packet ready to be given to them when the secretary hands them the bus schedule and other registration papers.

What do you suggest I include in this packet besides a membership form and meeting schedule?
