Thanks for the ideas! That was very helpful.

I think we are going to do something on a bulletin board physically at school and then also include the lists on our electronic newsletter.

You could make a Tree in the main hallway-- and add apples with requests written on them and change the item on the tree( apple, leaf, flower) for each season.

It be called a "tree of thanks" or "our Tree of many thanks"

Also you could make a construction theme-- and the theme could be "This place would be a reck with out your hard work" or "this place would be a zoo without you" and make a zoo with animals that have items on them- the cricuit has a great zoo cartridge.

Another would be a flower garden with paper flowers with items on it--
Themed "our teachers plant the seeds-- help them- help our kids grow"

Good luck!

Hi Seiford-
Good for you - the teachers will love you for it!
We have heard of a lot of schools posting wish lists in newsletters and on school or PTO websites, instead of on a bulletin board... that way you are reaching all parents, not just ones that are in school. Many working parents are looking for ways to help out the school but don't have the time off to come in so they are happy to contribute supplies. Here are some example of one: www.syvabcplus.org/teacher-wishlist
hamilton.pasadenausd.org/modules/cms/pag...id=148427&sessionid=

I know this doesn't help you with a clever name or visual but thought it might help for getting more people at your school contributing.

I would like to start a "giving tree" or "wish list" type program at our elementary school.

I envision using it for staff members to post their needs for their classroom (markers, pine cones, wipes, paper plates, books, etc). We'd post the needs in a creative way on a bulletin board at the school entrance.

Parents could browse the list of needs and donate if they can fill a need.

Has anyone done this? What format did you use? A traditional "tree" is too common.. looking for something different. A "wishing well"?

Thanks!
