Congrats, good luck, and have fun. Contact all the stores around you, download one of those donation letter forms, and customize. I did the same and the new party store in town donating a huge box of pencils, erasers, rulers, pencil bags, and we used them at the school carnival...plus did a "plug" for the party store in school's newsletter of their generous donation.

This site is great way to start! I've been an active PTO board member for 6 year know, 4 of them being PTO President and I can tell you I was very overwhelmed my first year or so, but I have learned so much and have received great support from everyone onthis site.
There is so much info here, if you are looking for fall festival ideas go onto the message board and look under the search link , you will find tons of usefull information. Good luck with all of your events this year and remember you can always count on your fellow PTO'ers!

Hi there.. This is going to be mt first year to serve on the PTO as an officer, and I am very nervous. I was voted in as the new activity director. I know partly what that means and what a few of my duties are, BUT (there is always a but) I am very nervous about jumping in with mo experince.
I am planning a fall festival for our school in Sept. of this school year, and I think I am off to a fairly good and early start, however if you ahve any ideas, tips, advice, anything that might benefit me in this event. Please feel free to share them with me. it would be very appreciated. Thanks
