At our school the President is also a general member and attends board meetings. It is very important that the President be there to provide insight and support at any meeting. The President is still part of the team therefore should be involved 100%

Does anyone know about any kind of policy or general thought that the PTA President of the school should be on the general board of the school? Since I'm the PTA President of our school, I think it's important that I share PTA information such as what the PTA accomplished during the year, how much money was raised and what our plans for fundraising are in the future. I also think it's important that a PTA person should know what's going on behind the scenes of their school so they have a better idea on how to proceed with events, fundraisers, etc. The President of our school doesn't think it's a good idea for the PTA President to be present at board meetings. I say why not. He doesn't have any good answer. Do other PTA Presidents out there go to board meetings or are they active board members? I just wanted to get a general feel of what other schools do. Thanks!
