have a spaghetti dinner, have the older kids serve lemonade, seat people, etc...

go to one of those places where you put meals together like Dinner and Dash or Supper-solutions.

great to get meals together, meet people and possibly turn it into a fundraiser

do a movie night.

What are you trying to accomplish with your event? If you just want to get parents together to mingle, you can have pastries and coffee.

If you are trying to get parents more involved in the school, you can put together folders with information regarding your PTO.

You can have a computer class or a job search/resume writing event to help parents brush up on their skills or help them get back to work.

You can have a meeting to discuss curriculum and call it Curriculum Night.

You can also meet at a local restaurant to give parents a few hours to themselves. Babysitting can be provided at your school by volunteers.

The possibilities are endless.
