Getting dads involved

Getting dads involved was created by Involveddad
I am wondering if anyone has any successful ideas or current practices in place to get dads more involved in their children's' education and the PTO. So often, it seems to be a "mommy club" with a few dads sprinkled in. I would like to be able to go to my board with some ideas as this has been something that we have been tossing back and forth and back and forth and back... well, you get the idea, we haven't gotten very far.

Some feedback I have received is that dads are the coaches and shouldn't have to do this piece and personally but, please don't get me wrong the sports and exercise are important I truly believe (and we all hear about the studies) that having both parent together as a team helping in some way shape or form will show our children that we are here to help them through school and support them through life.

Thoughts or ideas???
