I like the idea of the little fridge magnets. We do a car magnet as well. Once year we used them as an incentive to join the PTO but after that we sell them for 4.50 each. We used gomagnets.com.

What company do you use for your magnets?

Our school had a magnet made up that looked like a ruler. It had the name of the school and the PTO name and school phone number on it. Then we placed the most popular extension that parents would need on the bottom, ie. school nurse, attendance line, main office, PTO . So it served as a reminder for parents for the school services they needed as well as a reminder of the PTO.
We provided that as a gift to parents and it went over well. We also sell a car magnet with our school initials on it, WFS that we sold as a small fundraiser. It's great driving around town and seeing all the WFS families with their magnets!!

We make up our own brochure showing events that will be going on, mission statement, meeting nights and times etc. I also have flyers from Box Tops and Target which our school does. We have magnets with the school name, school phone number, attendance number, nurses phn number. They get a magnet when they become a member. We also have goodies in the cafeteria that the parents donate, but then they go to the cafeteria after meeting their childs teacher and can meet other parents.
The officers are present at the table so we can answer any questions they have.

Does anybody pass things out besides PTO literature? Our involvement has been really down and I was thinking of getting some business card magnets that had our PTO, phone number, web site and a catchy phrase. This way maybe the magnets would be put on the fridge and we would be thought of more. Should I or shouldn't I do this? It would cost about $33 for 200, so not a huge investment. Any other ideas of things to distribute would be appreciated. Thank you.
