Need Ideas for Staff Appreciation Breakfast!

17 years 1 month ago #133148 by Schroeder
Our school provides breakfast and lunch for the staff on our appreciation day. We set up breakfast early in the AM in the library - coffee, oj, donuts, breakfast breads and cut up fruit, most of this food was donated by parents, we had a local Dunkin Donuts donate coffee and donuts. At about 10:30 we set up for lunch - we had a few local restaurants donate hot main course items and then had parents provide a variety of salads. We were lucky to have a parent that owns a local restaurant to provide some hot food, but we also just had another local restaurant who also willing to donate - it is good PR for them.
For fun we have a "raffle". We have parents donate small gift items ($10-$20) and gift cards. We make sure we have enough to cover the staff plus some extras. We numbered the gifts and line them up on top of the book shelves. We used a bingo ball cage and had each teacher spin for a ball to determine their prize number. They had to shout BINGO! when they took their spin. We used our room parents to help acquire the donated food and raffle items. It was great and the teachers/staff really enjoyed it!

Our elementary school only has a staff appreciation breakfast -- we don't do a week long tribute -- just a breakfast one Friday morning in June!

I was wondering if you had any ideas/themes to share?

Should we do a theme, do you have it catered, do you raffle off gifts, do you give gifts to take home? We wanted to something fun -- we thought about having Panera Bread cater it. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks, MJ :-)
