Middle Schools _Leapfrog/Fly

I did forward the info, and I understand about distributing the info to the middle school parents.

Unfortunately our leaders are too busy deciding how many balloons to purchase for the dance. What is wrong with a parent volunteer who is a president at one of the elementary school's who has numerous years of experience doing this (organize and distributing info), stepping forward and taking on the responsibility instead of passing it onto the leaders who refuse to let parents donate drinks for the kids at the last dance because they wanted to make money off the soda machines, yet neglect to have the EMPTY soda machines filled, thus having middle school students at a dance for two hours with nothing to drink?

Why can't you just forward the info on to the middle school leaders? Whoever signs up needs to be in a position to be able to agree that certain information will be distributed to the middle school parents, so it makes sense that a leader would need to be the one to sign up.

Is my understanding correct that if you are just a parent volunteer at the middle school, you can not apply?

I am the President at the elementary school and we were notifed that we received the kindergarten one, but when I tried to apply for the middle school one, I reads as though you have to be a parent leader. Too bad because I don't have time to lead both.

Hey Guys -

Thought I'd give you a message boards heads-up about a very nice offer for middle schools. It's our 2nd year working with Leapfrog on it; reviews last year were outstanding.

Basically, if you're group is selected (you've got to have middle school grades at your building + there are limited supplies), then we're gonna help you kick off your middle school involvement year in style.

Two very cool FLY Pentop computers (one for raffling at a back-to-school event and one for your own middle-schooler), some math software, PTO Today's middle school involvement tips, and take-home middle school homework tips for parents. It's a nice (and valuable!) package.

Full details here: www.ptotoday.com/leapfrog/fly/

Offer just went live last week, so jump onboard....
