Student Choice Awards

Will EVERY teacher be given an award? I think the hard part is making sure that every teacher receives an award that sums up their personality, teaching style or overall character. Sometimes its best for the kids to come up with the names. It can be very funny and would definitely get their creative juices flowing to think of an award for their homeroom teacher.

In an effort to get our Students involved during Teacher Appreciation Week – we’ve thought about having a “Student Choice Awards” were students can pick from a list of creative categories that best describes there teacher. Students will fill out ballots and we would present Teachers during this week with a golden apple. Has any school done anything like this? I’m having a difficult time coming up with enough categories. So far all I have are the following: Most Hip-N-Happin Teacher, Most Sport Illustrated Teacher, Best School Spirit, Best Comedy, Best Dressed, and Sweetest Teacher! Any input would be appreciated.

Another Idea! We’re doing Teacher Grams during this week. Students can send their teacher a Thank you/Appreciation card with candy for a buck!
