Workshops for parents

We just had an internet safety presentation at our school last night. I initially went to the Netsmartz website and was ultimately put in touch with a detective from our County District Attorney's office who did the presentation, along with a District prosecutor. They offered age-appropriate presentations for different grade levels (k-2, 3-6, MS, HS, and finally community presentations for adults). It was very informative and I enjoyed it. You may want to check www.Netsmartz.org or check with your local law enforcement agency. Unfortunately, our presentation was not particularly well-attended, but I don't think it was the program itself. We seem to be having global attendance issues:-(

Have you checked into the Love and Logic series? Our school does a lot with that and has workshops for parents every couple of months. Plus they have lots of pamplets and fliers to send home too.
Good Luck!

We run a Parent resource center as part of our PTO and are always on the lookout for new ideas for Parent workshops. Our schools are k-3, 4-5, and 6-8. Any ideas!! I really could use some as I am running out!! THANKS
