We use Character Counts and "Good Kid Tickets". The kids collect their tickets and deposit them in monthly classroom drawings. They also have monthly assemblies to teach them about the character trait of the month.

When my son was in K and 1st, his school used "Caught Being Good" coupons that any adult staff member could give to any student whenever they deemed it appropriate. The students then accumulated the coupons for prizes or as a homework pass, extra credit, extra reading or recess time and so on. My son was most proud of his "My Principal is Proud of Me!" bookmark (with his school photo laminated on it) that he earned.

The school he was at for 2nd - 6th grade used Durley Dollars (the principal's name). They could use them instantly to by a little piece of candy from the principal, save them up for a bigger prize or write their name on the back and deposit them in a box for the once per semester drawing for a great prize.

After two years of Durley Dollars, the principal found out about Character Counts and switched to that program. The kids still ask him for Durley Dollars though!

Our PTO is thinking about sponsoring some type of reward program for the teachers to use on a weekly basis. They could reward students for whatever they wanted, good citizenship that week,
passing a test, being responsible, etc.

What type of reward does your school do (if they do something like that)? We do the usual perfect attendance, good citizenship, etc. a few times a year. We wanted to do something weekly -
