For the last several years our PTO president did nothing but complain about how no one helps and nothing ever gets done unless she does it herself and on and on and on. She always threatened to quit and it reached a point where no one would help and the PTO became almost non-exsistent. So this summer I stepped up and let her know I was willing to take over and she agreed to hand over the reigns. Other parents and teacher were very excited with the idea of new blood and came forward and let it be known that they are able and willing to do whatever needs to be done to bring the PTO back from the dead. WELLLL, cranky ex-president is not making things easy. She has not given over the check book yet, she has made decisions without the ok of the PTO, and is making quite a stink about any new ideas or programs we are trying to bring into the school. She is still a very negative force in the school and it is already starting to drive people away. I have spoken with her several times and she completely disregards our conversations. I am at a loss with what to do. She is still making decisions as though she were the PTO president and frankly I don't want to enter a peeing contest with her, this is about the kids and the school but her behavior needs to stop! Any suggestions? HELP!
