I am in your shoes exactly. The school didn't have PTO last year and the previous years didn't go well.
I made up my own form letter... I told what PTO is actually all about, most people really arent sure. At the bottom of the letter I gave 3 choices for
meeting times and a choice to just help with events.
The bottom section is to be returned to school with name and phone #. We will see how it goes. Membership cards might be fun but I definately wouldnt have a fee.

Hello Debbie,

Are you looking for a survey or just more of a "would you be interested in doing this" kind of letter?

As for membership cards, some groups use them and some don't. Our group stopped issuing cards and charging membership fees a few years ago. It might be best for you to operate that way at least for the start. It might encourage more people to get involved.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

I need help with some forms to put out at our School Open House. Our school is very small and had a PTO a few years ago. I am trying to get it going again and need some help. I am looking for some type of form letter to put out at the Open House to try to get people interested in getting involved with the PTO. I would appreciate anyone's input.
Also are there membership cards anymore? And do they charge for membership a nominal fee?
