Our school has four box tops challenges a year. The first one runs from Mid-September to January and its called Box Tops Football challenge. Each students gets a playing card that looks like a football field. They tape box tops (tape to the back only) or glue stick them to the playing cards to earn touch downs. The classroom that collects the most box tops (touchdowns) wins a jeans day and the top collector a prize. The second is Boys vs. Girls. 25 box tops earns a block in the tower. The team the collects the most box tops wins. The first year the boys won! We have a great race challenge and use teachers faces on cut out sneakers and run a track around the cafeteria. In this challenge each team (grade level) has to collect x number of box tops. The teams that reach their goal win a jeans day and the team that collects the most is rewarded an ice cream social. Final collection is the Summer Bag collection. Our teachers and kids love these collections and have a blast. We have doubled our collection! We earned over $2,300 last year! Good luck!
This year we are doing Box Tops Bucks. Connect 10 box tops to the "Buck" to make a $1. The students put their name and teachers name in the middle of the buck. At the end of every month we have a drawing and the winner receives a Hollywood Video Card for one rental. Then at the end of the year, the class w/ the most gets a pizza party at Planet Fun. It is a local pizza place in walking distance of the school. It also has a huge play area like McDonald's or Burger King, but 10x's the size.
This year our theme for is Box Tops for books each grade level classroom that has the most box tops the student gets a $1.95 gift certificate for a Schalastic book. We are a K-2 school.

In past years we have held classroom rewards for the class bringing in the most at each grade level--we offered ice cream parties,pizza, class games etc. We are this year holding a schoolwide reward--we are having popcorn and a movie for the whole school 2 times this year.
I am looking for some competition ideas to get our school excited about saving box tops. We have saved in the past years but last year we earned around $300. I would like to make it fun this year. I am taking over from someone else. Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks!
