Teacher Appreciation Idea's needed

17 years 10 months ago #116346 by mommytlc
Last year, the PTO spent $2,000 and redecorated the teacher and staff lounge. We bought new tables and chairs, curtains, and hung pictures. The room hardly got used and now everyone loves eating in the "cafe". This year for T&S Appreciation Week, we are having a luau in the lounge. I can't wait. We are also redecorating the bathroom in the lounge. It looks pretty pathetic.

We made A Walk of Fame for our teachers for the first day of TA Week. We used gold poster board and cut out stars and wrote their name, year they started to teach at our school, and their homeroom #. We placed them down the center of the mainfloor hall. The teachers loved them and you will still find them hanging in the teachers' rooms or on their doors. We also do something every day for them. We leave them inspirational messages in their mailboxes or on their desk. We have a nice breakfast waiting for them on Monday in the library, Tuesday - we set up a soup and salad bar in the teachers room. Wed we leave them bagels and muffins, Th - we have cheese, crackers, veggies, and dips, and then on Friday a themed luncheon: either Mexican, Italian, or your typical chicken, pot salad, rigatoni type of meal. We have each classroom donate a themed gift basket. The teachers love their week and we love our teachers!!

I love the car wash idea. I will share that with our Committee chairperson. Thanks!

Teachers love treats and things for their classrooms. white board markers, post it notes, pencils, bookmarks

I'm a teacher and loved it when we got these things with a cute little poem or note attached. It really makes a difference.

Last year I headed up that committee and we did something different each day. The one the teachers loved the best was the day we washed all of their cars during school. Come to work with a dirty car, go home with a clean one!
