Our PTO has been so boring also. Last night we had our first school event--back to school Luau. Yesterday as the busses were leaving and the parents picking up, we stood in the road where both groups could see us, with a huge yellow sign made from the school bulletin board paper. We were dressed up in grass skirts with crazy hats and one woman in a bee outfit (our mascot). it was TOO funny. but parents were laughing and kids waving at us. our event had over 500 people in a school of 600, and we made 980.00 compared to last years 300. We served the exact same food at the exact same prices as last year. nothing different. We had the head janitor dressed up in a grass skirt with a hawian hat and a sign that read "Cheif Kukamonga" and he walked around all night with his sun glasses on. We dressed up for the event also in the same outfits. Parents loved it and we basically acted like complete fools all night long. my child asked me today if i could throw the grass skirt away. he wouldn't come near me all night. But it worked.
