Student incentives

We do a PTO spirit award and give away bobcat bucks for our school store when the kids do something outstanding. Also morning clubs are a huge hit at our school so we do a Thinking and Games club, book club, and math club. Some kids show up at 7:30 even though the club doesn't start till 8 cause they get so excited.

How about Balloons on the first day of school (we got that off of this board). Ice cream sticks on a surprise lunch day...sponsor a fun evening for the kids to build community. We're doing a free ice cream social in September and then we're doing a monster mash dance in October. Any little thing you do, advertise that it is a PTO sponsored event and let the kids know who is bringing it to them. Word travels fast....!

I am trying to think of fun incentives for the students. Basically to get them more excited about coming to school. Like student of the month or spirit day. I just want some idea as to how other schools do it. We are a K-5 elementary school with 550 students. All ideas and suggestions are needed.
