Teacher Survey

I gave each teacher a survey yesterday with my home address on it so they could send it to me at their convenience over the summer - and I have to say that I was so surprised to see that 14 teachers took the time on the last day of school to fill it out and put it in our PTO mailbox. I truly didn't expect that. I also want to say that some of their answers didn't surprise me - and it will definetly make me bring to the board over the summer some changes that we will need to address for the new year. We also found that the teachers are very happy with the way our PTO runs and had a lot of compliments on them. :D

I highly recommend doing this.

Here it is.

Dear Teachers,

It would be a great help if you could take some time to fill out the attached Teacher Survey so that the PTO could see how we could change things that need to be addressed for the coming school year. I know it is a little late, but if you would rather mail it to me over the summer, that is just fine.

With your ideas and cooperation we could do some great things for the teachers and students of Minue School.

We have had our PTO elections and the new board for the 2006-2007 school year is as follows:

President Debbie Elliott (2006-2008)
Vice-President Dawn Golino (2005-2007)
Treasurer Jackie Halladay (2006-2008)
Corresponding Secretary Danielle DiNicola (2005-2007)
Recording Secretary Sherri Ramkaran (2006-2008)

Thank you for your participation.

Sincerely,
Debbie Elliott
Minue PTO

Please mail the completed survey to:

This is the survey:

Minue School PTO Teacher Survey

We all know how little spare time you have and how valuable it is, but to help the PTO help you, we are asking that you complete this survey.

Do you feel that the PTO is meeting your needs as a teacher? Is there anything that you feel the PTO could be doing to better meet the needs of the staff, students, or parents of Minue School?

Do you have any suggestions that could make school store work better? Would you support assigning a grade to a specific week instead of having the whole school attend weekly?

What are your thoughts about fall festival? Would you be interested in a spring carnival instead?

We are going to support the teacher’s instruction for Character Education this year. We will be giving each teacher “Good Deed” cards that may be redeemed at school store. Is this something you would participate with?

Do you think the PTO spends money wisely? What are your suggestions as to where the money should be given?

Are you interested in attending or joining our E-Board meetings so we can hear what the teachers need or would you rather put your suggestions in writing so we know what you are looking for? Also, we are going to open the meetings to parents this year so we could have more parental input too.

If you have any other comments or concerns, please use this space to address them.

Thank you very much for your time.

We always survey our parents to see if their needs are being met. After reading this, I think we will survey our staff as well. Thanks for the idea.

Did you attend the recent “OPEN HOUSE” night? If so, did you find it helpful?

Have you ever attended a PTA meeting at the school?

I am looking for questions for our teacher survey that I would like to send to our teachers. Has anyone done something like this and would like to share?
