Our Pto is planning a cookbook fundraiser for this winter. We are more than likey going with G&R Publishing of Waverly Iowa. Everytime that I have contacted this company with questions they are quick to answer the phone and seem to have know how to make a successfull fundraiser.

The best point that I can offer after researching several of the cookbook companies, is that G&R offers the best value, for top quality. The samples of complete cookbooks that they sent to our group were great! They gave us a book that step by step helps you decide everything from the front cover to types of fonts.

G&R is a full service company they want to make your cookbook they will even type it all up for you - NO CHARGE!!! However you get a discount if you submit the recipes for the web or put them on disk for them.
With the other Companies there is a additional charge if you want them to type it for you!!!
I know I seem like I am trying to sell G&R to you but by far they seem like the right choice!!!!

we did it. there are tons of companies offering binding services, obviously would be more profitable if you bound it yourself, maybe ask a local printer to donate their services at reduced cost in exchnage for 'mention'/advert in the book. you could also solicit advertisers from the community, make it a double-fundrasier, money in from sale of books plus money in from advertising.
if there is low turnout, have the kids ask their GRANDMOTHER/S for their favorite 'secret' recipe. at least, most grandmas have a recipe or two, and they love to share their experiences. it could be the 'mygrandmascookbook' or something like that.

We tried at our school. We only had 6 recipes turned in. Seems the committee was asking for only healthy recipes and that was not well recieved in our school. I would suggest that when you solicit your recipes you open it up to all types of recipes, not just one type.

our school is thinking about doing a recipe book where the parents send in one of thier favorite recipes or thier kids favorite and then sell them and the proceeds go towards the playground fund . i know other schools have done this so if you are one of the others schools that do this and have any suggestions or ideas for this i would greatly app and tell me how well it went and how much it cost to put it together?

thanks ronnie
