Love the snaps idea. We also do something everyday. Monday is ice cream sunday day for the teachers, Tuesday is quick recipee Tuesday, Wednesday is Deli Day for lunch, Thursday is Teacher Thank You Thursday (where we encourage the teachers and the children to write thank you notes) and Friday is TOP 5 Friday where we take the teachers top 5 classroom needs and distro to the parents. Things like construction paper, post it notes. Hopefully the stuff will come in and they can replenish their stocks.
I've also written a letter to the editor trying to get all the folks in the county to conside the Teacher Thank YOu Thursday...we just had a budget vote and the cuts have everyone's morale down. Hopefully this will provide a boost...dianna

We try to do something every day of the week and involve the students in at least two of the activities. Some things the teachers have LOVED in the past are:

An empty vase was placed on each teachers desk one night after school. The next morning, each student came in with a flower and placed it in the vase. By the time class starts, the teacher has a full, lovely bouquet (sp?) of flowers. A note went home the week before letting parents and kids know about it.

Another thing that takes a bit of prep work but can by done by next week is a "Snaps" jar. Send a note home with each student. On the bottom, have a line that says,

You're a great teacher because: ______________

Instructions on the form should tell the student to cut the bottom of the page off, fill in the blank and then bring it in and put it in the jar (or bowl, bag, whatever) on the teacher's desk. Whenever the teacher needs a pick me up he/she can take a slip out and read it.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

Next Tuesday is National Teacher's Day!! We would like to do something special for our teachers. I was thinking of having the students personalize a door size paper to cover her classroom door but not sure how we can do that without her finding out. Any ideas?! I'm the HSO president so I would like to share ideas with all room parents but I'm also thinking of something special for my daughters teacher.

Please share your ideas!
