They don't have an email address set up with it that I'm aware of; however, it does have a place for you to put an email into for people to be able to respond to you.

If you go to the bottom of the home page, there is a place to send an email/comments. I used my personal account (we are allowed 5 - so i made a pto specific one) and I receive all emails that come thru the site. I then forward any specific needs to the proper person for them to respond. I usually sent a message to the person letting them know that we have received the message and it has been forwarded.

Funny you said that...I just came across GoDaddy.com and it comes with an email address too. I think that is the route to go.

Thanks for your 2 cents. I am the new president coming in for the new year, so I think I will do it. I think it will be a great new tool for our PTO. We currently have a district wide website with each school listed, but like you said, it isnt always updated.

One last question...I promise!! Does the orgsites.com have email too? Just curious.

Thanks again.

Ugh, I just typed out a whole message for you and I lost it. Anyway, I'll try again.

Thanks for the compliment!

Our baseball team used MyDaddy.com to purchase the domain name for under $20 annually. Then you put a forward proxy on the site. Then when they type in the easier to remember name it automatically forwards to the orgsites address. If you need better info, let me know I'll try to get my hubby to explain.

Orgsites does have a counter. In fact, there is a counter for each page. One thing to note, each time you edit a page it also moves the counter number up. You can reset the number, so I make sure to do that when I want to keep it more accurate.

My 2 cents to add: Make sure you have someone willing to commit to update. There's nothing worse than going to an outdated site. That was my driving force to have our own PTO site. The school's was typically updated only a couple times during the year.

Thank you. It looks really great. I just wonder - how does it work if I want to buy a domain name to read our name - how does it forward it to the orgsites.com? I want to make this as easy as I can for people to remember.

Also, does it have a counter to show you how many people visit the site?

Thanks for your post!!

Look at orgsites.com Here's a link to ours: Lake Center

It's a free site to use and is quite simple if you have a little computer knowledge & comfort. I found it pretty straight forward to use and can get the info we need on it. I use my microsoft word to go to online site for icon/graphics most of the time. I can never remember the site name so that's my excuse for using that. I know if I "favorite" mark it, but. . . .

If you don't like using all the address necessary with org sites, you could always use it and "buy" a domain name then it could forward to it go to the org URL. We did that for a small travel baseball team as well. (Obviously, we are always on the computer around my house!)

I know, I am full of questions tonight, but here is another one if anyone feels like sharing:

I am looking to start a new website for our PTO - my nephew told me to look at register.com - which I did, but I am looking for something that has clip art, easy set up and an email address attatched to the site.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
