Recruiting New Officers

I was also asked I guess the officer had seen me at school quite a bit and just came up and asked me to think about it. And sure enough I ran for office.
Find someone who think has the qualities of an officer. Organized, loves doing school stuff, time, etc.

Ask your teachers if they know of any parents that might be interested and talk to them at school or call them. I started by asking the parents that I would come to classroom or school events regularly. I actually started with kids in my son's class so he could introduce us! One of the moms I asked would have never come without me asking but she is amazing and loves doing it.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Does anyone have any ideas or advice on how to recruit new officers for open positions - namely the Chair/President? We do not have a problem getting parents involved to help with our activities and fundraisers - sometimes we have more than we need! However, when you mention the words "PTO Officer", everyone takes off running. I have really had a fun time as the Chair, but I am needed elsewhere and do not want to leave the PTO in a bind. Any advice would be appreciated!
