Brick Fundraiser

Hi, I am in NJ and recently completed a brick project. I found a local brick engraver which saved money. The cost was 21.50 per brick, not including the brick or installation. We had blank bricks left from the initial fundraiser years ago and just reinstated it to sell more. We sold 46 bricks, charged $5o per brick, $75 for family businesses adnd $100 for outside businesses. We were lucky to have a parent who is a mason, and charged us a good price to install, which was $1800. We relocated the bricks from the back of our school to the front to make a sitting area. The area was a good size and we were charged fairly. It came out so beautiful and was worth the effort. Just make sure that you choose an area that won't need to be moved like ours. They put the bricks in prime playgound area real estate and we chose to move them. What a job. Hundreds of bricks, 6 x 9, 4 lbs each, 20 volunteers and lots of sore muscles!! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Can anyone out there tell me who they have used to do a "Brick Fundraising" project? This idea keeps coming up at our meetings and this just sounds like a lot of work. The cost from what I have found is high and then the cost to ship them is high as well.

Has anyone done this and what was your success?
I would love some pro's and con's also.

Thanks for sharing.
