PTO DONATIONS ????

We have tried the donation only approach...a total disaster. Only about 40% participation, and our budget is nonexistent. Another school in our area gives 4 ways to contribute...jog a thon, one time donation, buy giftwrap or buy kidart. That way, if someone wants to just write a check, no problem, and those who want to fundraise can. It seems to work!

At our PTO meeting last night it was brought up that parents want to have the option of doing the fundraiser or making a donation. We did talk about the pro/cons of doing this and why. I left the subject that it was something the officers need to discuss and see how to handle and what we could do.

Have any other schools done this and how do I do go about it and still try to push the fundraiser part that helps more students?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
