Not sure if you guys have seen this, but the BoxTops folks have an interesting twist this year to their PIE (parent involvement in education) Grants program.
Involves middle schoolers writing an essay about how they would build parent involvement at their own schools. Winning kids will visit DC for presentation and kids' schools will get $1,000 involvement grants. Kind of neat.
