We provide child care but not for conferences but for our parent group meetings. We do not charge the parents. We are a Pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school and our 8th graders provide the babysitting which we pay them a scrip certificate for the evening! We usually have 3 of them there and that helps the families who cannot get babysitters. It seems to work out well. They watch them in our Pre-k/Kindergarten room which has plenty of toys and games to keep them occupied. Good luck!

Phew--we just provided child care for the 1,2 grade open house last night. Amazing. Over 104 children there and we managed to not lose one or have any incidents. It was a challenge though and our coordinator did a phenominal job. You can imagine the possible craziness and it was controlled chaos most of the time. Do other schools provide care for this and parent teacher conferences? Do you charge. We charged 2 boxes of mac and cheese to give to the local food bank for hurricane relief support of displaced families. Just wondering.
