Please print out the responses you've received and attach it with your qualifictons. Maybe they will see how crazy their request is.

Are they nuts?

If I was forced to produce a resume I would make mention of something like this:

Breathes air.
Inability to say "NO" to volunteering.
Begs well (for donations)
Will work for 1) Dove Chocolates and 2) coffee.

Or else just laugh in their face and ask if they are bloody serious.

I would think they would like to know your past history at PTO events. What all you've chaired, organized, etc. I would strongly suggest starting somewhere smaller myself. I didn't run for president until I had been at the school, and involved in greater degrees every year for 6 years. And then I was VP for one year.

A resume???? for a volunteer position. I'd say thanks, but no thanks, unless you get paid for it. Submit your ideas, wishes, dreams, goals, etc. and let them decide, if your still willing to be that involved.

That request sends up a very large red flag to me! :eek:

My resume would have read :no experience in running any volunteer events. Why would you need a resume, just the fact that you are interested in it says a lot. As far as being president it is a lot of leg work little detail work, you oversee everything and often act as the go between to principal. It does have its rewards and if you have a great bunch of volunteers it is even better! Skip the resume and present your mission and dreams for your group!
