Don't laugh! We have a "team of parents" who
1) walk the car line and tell and invite every parent, grandparent, etc. to the meeting.
2) The other "team" has a list of kids who ride the buses and they call about 20 parents each.
We have a lot more cars and only about 1/4 of our 950 students ride the bus. It works. We had standing room only one meeting and that was CRAZY!! I like it better when they have about 45-50 people attend.

That's how we do it. Kind of absurd, but we were getting the same response and I said I would walk the car line (Being sarcastic). In Florida this time of year, I think I was crazy when I brought it up.
We did prizes last year too and it didn't increase attendance by much. We have 550 students no way I could "invite" them all but when I do introduce I remind them of the meeting coming up. Thats about all you can do besides sending the bazillion flyers like you do too.

We get that too. We have over 420 kids in school and there is no way we could call and personally invite every parent to our meetings.
This year we are lucky enough to have a president whose husband works for Shaw's (grocery store) and he was able to get us 10 $25.00 gift certificates to Shaw's for door prizes. We are hoping that will boost meeting attendance.
Ok this may be a bit sarcastic but why do several of our parents feel they have to be invited to meetings? and they say they don't know about the meetings... when it is announced on the radio ( small town here), put in the newspaper AND notes are sent home a week before and the day of... I am beginning to get a few surveys back and that is one that I have noticed on more than one survey.( That I wasn't invited) How do you let the families know? Do I need to call them or make a one on one contact of soem sort? Or is it just an excuse???
