We're developing a "Buddy System" for lack of a better term. "Veteran" parents, preferably those with students in the same classroom (or at least grade), are matched up with "Rookie" parents who have transferred into the school in Grades 1-4 (we're not including Kindergarten parents in this because we have other programs to welcome them en masse).

The Veterans call upon the Rookies during the summer and offer to answer any questions, meet with them at the school to give them a tour, introduce them to some other classmates and/or parents, etc.

Has anyone else tried this? Does anyone have a better name for it? Thanks!
