This will be the first year that our PTO uses a theme. I am coordinating our theme to go with that of our 4-H. As our 4-H students "Focus on Safety", our PTO will "Focus on Parental Involvement". I have gotten with the 4-H leaders to coorindate my bulletin board to match theirs.

I am working on a flyer to go along with this theme that includes pictures for each phrase.

Thanks for such a great idea! Don't apologize for the long post -- it was chock full of good info. I really like the Wizard of Oz theme, and so many school activities could be built around it.

The only other theme I was able to find that I liked was "A Hero Lies in You." That was basically it, though; no other info to go along with it.

I'll suggest both of these to my board and see where our brainstorming gets us.

It is a great idea - But I am looking at a NASCAR/Racing Idea using a racetrack - does anyone have any ideas on a "catch phase"? Thank you.

Susanne: I love your letter. It sounds very friendly and upbeat. I have 2 suggestions though. 1. If your school has first time students (kindergarten or new move ins) perhaps the first line should be modified as you wouldn't technically be welcoming them back.
2.Explain what PTG (Parent Teacher Group) is for those who are new/unfamiliar.
3. In the 3rd paragraph -do you allow other realtives to volunteer as well as the moms and dads?
