Wow! The "three for Me" web site is awesome!
I thought our PTA was a busy one- but I got LOTS of ideas from this one- and all really doable.
Especially loved the stuff about getting Dad :D s involved.

Thanks for sharing! :D ;)

I like the golf idea but would love to take it "up a notch" and have a real golf outing! Our church does this as an invitation for the men to share a morning with Father (heard it gets a little competative!) but everyone has so much fun!

How about lunch with dad? Encourage dads to join their students for lunch on the (let's say) second Thursday of each month! What am I doing? I love that idea!

Gotta go jot this down..........

We have collected some great information through surveying men and asking them what types of things they would like to be involved in and how to get them involved. Check it out on the dad's page at www.three4me.com. Also, Shawn, thanks for another great idea to post about the fantasy baseball league. This could work well if you put this out there for dads individually or for dad and child teams.

Goalie...
GREAT IDEA! I'll be stealing this one! (Men are great to have on the board because they have a different perspective than all of us gals... I'm excited about the coming school year because we'll have three great dad's contributing to our PTO executive board!!!) Keep up the great work!

Our PTO used to do an artsy "Plate for Dad" thing where the kids would decorate a plate and give to their dad's for Father's Day. However, we now have 2 guys on the exec board (the Pres and myself as the Treas). As we were talking about this year's Father's Day thing, the plates (as well as several other artsy ideas) were brought up again. The Pres and I chimed in saying that, while we certainly appreciated anything our kids made and brought home for us, we really didn't have a need or want for decorated plates.

Obviously, the rest of the group put us on the spot and asked what we would want. Now for Father's Day this year, we are having a Father's Day Golf Outing at the local miniature golf course. Everyone is invited so it isn't strictly for Dad's. Everyone seems excited about it, especially the Pres and me. We get to be outside, play a sport and goof around with our kids. Speaking as a guy, that means more to us than a plate.

It is scheduled for June 5. I'll try to remember to let you know how it goes.
