NEEDS FEEDBACK: School Website PTO; should student be allowed in PTO?

What I ended up doing for our PTO is to utilze a service that our hosting company offered to create a data base for our website. This now allows any PTO member who has been given certain rights to go and add information to the sections they are responsible for. It is working out great and the chairpersons are getting used to using this system. They can work on their "section" of the website from any computer with internet access. It is so easy to use - as long as they know how to type on a computer and sign into the site anyone can potentially do it!

But in response to your specific question - I could see using the student's design BUT you need to find a parent to be taught how to maintain the site - what happens when the student leaves - for that matter you always need to make sure you have an additional person who has website knowledge because parents do eventually leave also.

Zaharis Elementary Website is incomplete and our school's PTO offers any parent volunteer to create the school's site. A student volunteered and showed us a spectacular version of the website, but I don't know if a student should be allowed to substitute a parent! He showed us a complicated and advanced code script and demonstrated the work and volunteered to continue the progress while in junior high, but it is PARENT-teacher organization. Any suggestions?
