Better ways to involve parents on a military post

The PTA had an article about a PTA/ parent involvement program run on a couple of US Army bases in Germany. I tried to find the page but couldn't, you might email PTA.org and see if they could send you a contact name or url of the page.

I have a suggestion: If you created a program (you're a school) regarding them, maybe if you have sponsors that market things or something, give them a discount, or have students honor them with letters or small gifts, or maybe classroom activities to be given to these people. Kind of like a veteran-honor with small or major projects. I can't think of anything specifically, maybe artwork or a letter or something: I don't know, you're the PTO!

Better ways to involve parents on a military post was created by <LaraLynn Lewis>
We are a PTO at Yongsan Army Post in Seoul, Korea. Our school has 1100 students. Parents are active duty military, their spouses and government civil servants. Some parents are in Iraq, others stationed in remote places, and others have a more normal schedule and stay close to home. We also have many Korean parents. We want to involve parents and make our group user friendly for them. Any suggestions from anyone? Thanks. Now if we can only get our zip code issue worked out, we can join this website! Living overseas is a big adventure!
