I'd suggest perhaps another form of item other than storytime or scary stories because even scary stories seem too immature for many kids. Focus on interactive things, because kids won't get bored and not do it. Interactivity may include games with (HIDDEN) education; something they'd enjoy and not know they're learning so much. If your PTO can come up with a game, children won't be so bored with it. The key is interactivity.

We are having tv turn off for the first time this year in our 4&5 school and want to do a fun reading night. At the younger school a ran a slumber storytime kids came in PJ's and teachers and town officals and such came a kids read in groups and we announced when it was time to change. These kids are bigger and want to be cooler and want something different. I thought of doing a scary story night with flashlights but not enought short scary stories I can think off for this age? any other ideas?? Please help April is coming quick!!!!
