The only free site that I am aware of is orgsites.com
However, you only get one long page for information. You also have to type in HTML code and although they do provide you with the definitions, it is time consuming. Also, if you want to do something a bit elaborate, it doesn't have the space.
We use myschool and it's worth the small yearly fee. Easy to use, and plenty of space.

I can't point you to free sites that don't include ads. Bear in mind that you have no control over what ads are shown. I use Tripod for my personal web pages ( www.tripod.com ), but there are those pesky pop-ups!

Most internet providers give you some amount of web space, but it's limited, and it's tied to the individual consumer.

Have you ever seen the MySchoolOnline site? For PTA/PTO organizations, among others, it's about $33 dollars a year, which is not bad. Plus, it's kind of a 'for dummies' site; they make it easy to build a site so you don't need to know html. And it can be collaborative, so keeping the site updated doesn't have to fall on one person's shoulders.

Here's the address:

myschoolonline.com/golocal/

Look for the 'special discount' rates section. There's also a free 30-day trial. It's interesting also to check out the various sites schools, classes, etc. have set up.

We are a small primary school with a fairly new PTO. We would like to create our own website and are looking for websites that offer free space. Anyone know of any possibilities?
