I am writing on behalf of the Madison Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) in Mount Vernon, WA. We are an active group of concerned parents working hard to make our school the best it can be. Last year, the PTO sent 60 students to the Young Author’s Conference, bought new stage curtains, and built a new track behind our school…. While also having Bingo Night and providing each teacher $75 for needed supplies. This year, the PTO has even more exciting activities planned for our students… including a Pajama Party promoting the joy of reading in November, our Around the World Carnival in April, and various programs that improve the education of our children!
While we are an active group, our numbers are small. Research indicates that a prime factor for student success is parent involvement in our schools; thus, we are actively encouraging increased membership in our group. One way we are attempting this is by offering door prizes at our PTO meetings. We are asking you to help by donating a gift certificate of any denomination to be used for this purpose.
