I really like this thread though! Nice to talk about some of the important issues.

I was thinking that PIE started in KY but I must have it mixed up with the CIPL. Whichever, it became so popular that other states wanted the low down on it to start their own. I am very proud of that. Who says a little ol' state like KY can't make a difference. Same goes with a little school such as the one my children attend.

The Prichard Committee ( www.prichardcommittee.org ). Emphasizes and promotes parental involvement in schools. They also have a tool kit that can be downloaded. It can be found at www.fcps.net/fcs/. It has all kinds of info that I am going to go through carefully. I even noticed a PTA link (Michelle B. ). I thought this would be worth sharing. The Prichard Committee also started the CIPL, which if I am not mistaken is now called CPL for parent leadership and they also offer workshops for volunteers.
