on the last day of school, our kids go to their new classroom and meet the teachers and see who will be in there class for the following year.
All teachers have their kids write notes to the new incoming class about what they do and what to expect. The kids love this because it's coming from other kids.
Thanks so much we are doing at our May PTO meeting also well after the meeting anyway but are very excited but the kids have their own thing during the day in June last day of school with the teacher and class of next year but principal doesn't want that info going out ahead of that! thanks!!
Our school does this at the May PTO meeting and have for several years. Our school requires ALL teachers of the grade level to be there. Each teacher does a segment on what to expect, ex. behavior, activities, curriculum, supplies.
Our children participate with us so we all hear what is expected together.
Our children really look forward to it - actually, so do we.
Okay, I have no experience here but you sounded desperate
Curriculum is an important factor. What kind of work with they be doing/expected to do? Maybe a heads up on needed supplies prior to the big school shopping rush, if they have it standardized by grade. (I would love that so that I could avoid crowds and hit clearance sales)
Does the schedule change? example- grades 1-3 go to lunch at 12:00 and 3-6 go at 12:20.
Maybe a refresher course on the school rules.
