Our school has 4 duty free lunches throughout the year. Basicly on a friday we have volunteers come and watch the kids while the teachers go up on our stage in the cafateria and eat their lunches at the first 3 we provide the desserts. We asked parents to send items (the teachers usually get together and has someone run and get them something outside the school) And then the last duty free lunch falls during our Staff appreciation week and we cater the lunch and ask parents to send desserts. Also this whole week we ask parents to send breakfast foods for the staff to enjoy in the morning hours. The teachers love just not having to eat with the students these days. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I'm curious if anyone has done a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon for a small small school? Our school only has 4 teachers & one of them is the principal. Plus we are 30 miles away from a "town".
I think having a teacher appreciation luncheon would be great for these guys & as a new incoming Vice president, I'd love to figure out a way to implement it as its currently not happening.

Thank you for the idea. We have never tried the Baked Potatoes. I think next year, we will. Thank you again.

We also have done baked potatoes not only at school but at church also. The best is the potatoe bar. Volunteers cook the potatoes, in tin foil and then they are put into coolers to keep them hot.
Toppings include, grated cheese, onions, chili, broccoli, cauliflower, sour cream, nacho cheese, bacon bits, ranch dressing, peppers, mushrooms, pretty much anything you can think of to put on them. They make a great meal, all dressed up!

How do you do the Baked Potatoes and what else do you serve? Just getting ideas for next year!

We have four teacher appreciation luncheons (events) throughout the year. The first is before school starts and is usually a catered barbecue. The second and third are planned meals but we ask each grade level to be responsible for a specific part (one of the most successful was baked potato and salad - least successful was quiche). The fourth is at the end of the school year and is catered by a local restaurant. We always keep extra money on hand for a last minute dash to the store for the "potluck" type meals. Sometimes they work wonderfully, other times they are a complete bust.
