How about asking some of the kids/dads if they would be willing to share their dad with a child who needs someone? Or what about some willing high schoolers, college students, local firemen, policemen, or senior gentlemen who would like to be a pal for the event. That way the child can attend AND have a partner to spend time with!

Hi, We are planning our first Donuts w/Dad event next month. We have our flyer made up and I think we're ready to go but I have one question. How did you deal with any upset children that came to school w/out their Dad, or "other significant person in their life" but still wanted to participate? I would feel bad saying "sorry, you can't join us because your dad isn't with you"! Any suggestions or am I just worrying too much? Thanks! Krystal
