We use "altavista" (see post above) and you can cut and paste your papers for translation. You will still need to have a Spanish speaker proof it for you. We do our papers with English on the front, Spanish on the back or English/Spanish together on the same line similar to immigration cards. Our Spanish speakers were thrilled! We use this for PTO agendas, permission forms, donation requests, etc... Good luck!

We are in the same situation. Ask your principal if you have a district staff employee who's job is to translate at meetings. We have a committee called DELAC. One of the members' job is to translate at our committe meetings. We also have Hmong, and Mien. Then if that doesn't work try this website it was given to us coordinators last week by someone who did some great investigating on the web. www.babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish. I used it already and it works. Just be sure the translation is in the right format.Hopefully this helps.

Our school has an increasing number of Spanish speaking parents and children this year. NONE of our board members are even close to being able to help.
Does anyone else have any info or advice in dealing with papers that are sent home and making a spanish version?

Betty
