Parent Involvement

I'm not sure if a survey is the way to go. If they don't participate now, how do you know they will return the survey? I have one on file if you would like to look at it. This topic is the Holy Grail of PTO/PTA. With such a busy world out there, it's hard to get anyone to commit more of their time. I didn't start volunteering until after I quit my job. Not all families have that luxury. You need to pique their interest. Make sure that they know the outcome of their hard work. I know that sounds simple enough, but you would be surprised at how often this is never thought of. What grade level are you at? I think that makes all the difference. I see more participation at the high school level than I do at the elementary level. I hope this helps. Let me know if you want that survey.

I would like to send home both a beginning and end of the year parent survey but dont know where to start. Can someone out there point me in the right direction? Our PTO is having problems with getting parents involved at all levels. The upcoming 2003-2004 school year will be my 2nd year as PTO President and I dont want to have a parentless year like I did this past year!!! Help!!!
