Childcare at Meetings

Hi Pottsville mom, I am in Russellville!!
We do provide childcare, we pay a teenager-this next year it will be our teacher reps daughter--$20 and then any tips. They stay in our Library instruction room, however our teacher rep has volunteered her room. You might ask around, some teacher might not mind. We have a childcare box with colored pencils, worksheets, coloring books, etc in them and usually have a tv in the room with a video.

We have our Honor Society Students from our High School sign up to watch the kids durning our meetings. We are lucky enough that the teachers don't mind the kids being in the rooms.

I usually try to have childcare for the first few meetings of the year, when parents are still active & attending. It was getting expensive though.

The first meeting we did have a Girl Scout troup come & take the kids to the playground, but some parents (Kindergarten moms) were worried because they could not see thier child..

I do think childcare is well worth it.

We have our meetings in the Library, and have the girlscouts earn their babysitting badge by watching the children in the kindergarten classroom. Hope this helps!

We provide childcare. We ask the National Honor Society at the high school if they want to do it each year. This year, I also asked the Girl Scout Cadettes to come too. That way if one doesn't show then we still have sitters. We have as many as 10 kids sometimes. It works out ok and we have them play in the gym. I also try to keep meetings to an hour. At the end of the year we will give a donation to both groups. :D

Our kids go to the gym. We used to use just teenagers, but this year the young woman who works at the YMCA after school program offered her services. It's great-she has organized games and activities. The kids get exercise, have fun, we feel like they are safer, and they are quieter(important because we're in the cafeteria next door). Before, parents worried about letting toddlers go in with the older kids, but it works really well now.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.
